Time for action – create groupings


  1. Return to the course front page and click on Groups under Course administration, then Users in the Settings block.

  2. Do you see a Groupings tab at the top of the Groups page?

  3. If not then you need to speak to your Moodle administrator (refer to the Ask the admin section following on from this one). If you do then click on it.

  4. Press the Create grouping button.

  5. Give the grouping a name and, optionally, a description.

  6. Press the Save changes button.

  7. We have now created a grouping, but there aren't yet any groups in it:

  8. Click on the show groups in grouping icon:

  9. Select the group you want to add into the grouping from the Potential members list. Then press the Add button:

  10. When you are done press the Back to groupings button.

    Now I'm going to return to the forum I just created and press the Update this forum button to go back to the Editing forum page.

  11. Once you are back to the Editing forum page, scroll down the page to the Common module settings box. Click on the Show...
