Restoring a SQL database to a network location


This recipe will cover how to successfully restore a SQL database to a network location.

Getting ready

Before you can restore your SQL database to a network location, you need to have a DPM agent installed and attached to the DPM server.

How to do it…

  1. Open the DPM console and click on Recovery. Expand the tree on the left-hand side of the console and click on the SQL database that you want to restore. Choose the date and the recovery point time for the restore. Right-click on the database and click on Recover… to start Recovery Wizard.

  2. In the Review Recovery Selection step, verify that you have chosen the right database and click on Next > to continue.

  3. Choose the Copy to a network folder option and click on Next >.

  4. In the Specify Destination step, click on Browse… to point out the destination for your restore.

  5. Choose the appropriate location for your restore and click on OK to continue.

  6. Click on Next > to continue. In the Specify Recovery Options...
