Adding disk to the DPM disk pool

This recipe explains how to add a disk to your DPM disk pool either via the console or by using PowerShell.

Getting ready

Before you start protecting your production environment, hosting your company's critical services in your modern data center, you must add disk storage to the DPM server disk pool. This can be done either via the DPM console or via DPM PowerShell.

How to do it...

When adding disk storage to the DPM disk pool via the console, start by clicking on Management to get to the management pane on the console.

Note

Before you are able to add disks to the DPM server disk pool, they must be present in Disk Management under Computer Management. It's recommended that you convert your disks to dynamic disks before you add them to the DPM server disk pool.

On the left hand side of the console is the Disks link. Click on it to list the DPM Storage Pool Disks.
