Understanding how the System Center family should be your base for service delivery

This section will present a good starting point for you, regarding how you can use the System Center family to build your on-premises services for your modern datacenter.

Before you can start to install a server software, you need to define what services should be available within your modern datacenter. It is not about installing products and using as much PowerShell as possible, it is all about building and designing services that are reliable and useful to both your end users and deciding what brings great value to the company or organization.

Start simple; think of perhaps three services that you should provide as service offerings to your organization. Keep it simple and do not add complexity, as this will only lead to complex administration and make it difficult to troubleshoot.
