Building a PerformancePoint business intelligence dashboard
In the Creating a chart using the PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer recipe we demonstrated how to create an analytic chart using Dashboard Designer. However, this tool allows you to create many items (charts, KPIs, filters) and bring them all together in a dashboard. Your dashboard can be organized and deployed to SharePoint right from within Dashboard Designer, providing an alternative to manually configuring Web Parts as we did in the previous recipe.
Getting ready
This recipe works for:
SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition
This recipe requires a SharePoint Enterprise environment with PerformancePoint Services configured.
You will require a SharePoint site created from the Business Intelligence Centre template as this contains all the lists and content types required for this recipe.
You will need access to the Sales SharePoint list and AdventureWorksOLAP cube data sources, which we have used in previous recipes.
