When to use multiple tenants
An Azure Active Directory tenant is the highest node in the customer’s cloud ecosystem. Usually, when a new customer purchases a Microsoft cloud service, they obtain their new tenant as part of their subscription. When purchasing additional Microsoft cloud services, they are added to the tenant, which was created with the first purchase.
