Managing distribution groups

Before we start talking about distribution group's management, we need to be aware of these first:

• Recipient permissions: You need to be assigned permissions before you can manage distribution groups. For details, review the section called Managing distribution group permission to understand role-based access control and its impact on the distribution group creation and modification.
• The group naming policy: If your organization has defined a naming policy for the created distribution groups, you need to review this. Since we are going to manage distribution groups using the Exchange Management shell, the naming policy will be applied unless you specify the –ignorenamingpolicy parameter to override the policy. If you are an administrator using Exchange Admin Center (EAC) to create distribution groups, the naming policy will be ignored.
