Reviewing alternatives in App-V plus RDS integration
In my previous book Getting Started with Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.6, we had the chance to take a good look at the different types of integration between App-V and Remote Desktop Services (RDS), formerly known as Terminal Services.
RDS, as we have seen in this chapter, has a significant role in VDI environments, but Remote Desktop Services offers several features natively without requiring the use of VDI, and of course, using a shared cache is not the only way of integrating App-V into this kind of platform.
RDS platforms, which are largely implemented in several organizations, include the use of RemoteApp type of applications that have several similarities with App-V. In this section, we are going to examine and understand a little bit more about this.
