In the e-commerce world, it's very common to hear that you need high-quality photography to highlight your products. And that's definitely true. You do need good imagery. However, you can't just upload a 2 MB photo to your website. You need to optimize it so it's as small as can be while still being high-quality.
This reduces the total size of a page when someone views your product page. This will make your product page load much faster.
We're going to look into two tools to help us do that: Jetpack and Imagify. First up, we're going to optimize images with Jetpack.
