Securing Horizon View with SSL Certificates

n this chapter, we will discuss the security aspect of VMware Horizon View 7, and in particular, how we deliver secure communication not only with the end user client but also between the different View infrastructure components in the data center. We are going to look at two ways to deliver this secure communication.

We will start with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates and get an overview of SSL, before learning how to create/issue a certificate and configure Horizon View to use it. The second option that will be covered in this chapter is True SSO. True SSO provides users with a way to authenticate to their virtual desktops that keeps all of their usual domain privileges but doesn't require them to provide their Active Directory credentials. You will more than likely have SSL certificates already set up in your environment...
