In this chapter, we have configured the Horizon View Administrator to deliver our virtual desktop machines by means of creating desktop pools. We have built and configured a dedicated Full Clone desktop pool and a dedicated Linked Clone desktop pool. As part of the configuration of the desktop pools, we looked at how to create these using the classic Horizon View Administrator console, as well as the new web-client style Horizon Console.
In the next chapter, we will look at how to build a number of floating desktop pools, using Linked Clones and Instant Clones. We will also configure a manual desktop pool before going on to look at some of the key management tasks you will need to perform when using Linked Clone desktop pools, and then entitling end users to the newly created desktop pools.
