Preparing Active Directory
Horizon View requires Active Directory (AD) for authentication of users and desktops, as well as making use of group policy to control and tune many aspects of your end users' desktops. This will be covered in later chapters.
Horizon View is compatible with the following AD-functional domain levels:
Windows 2008 and Windows 2008 R2
Windows 2012 and Windows 2012 R2
When deploying your View Connection Servers, they either need to be in the same domain as the desktops that you are going to deploy, or in a domain with a two-way transitive trust to the domain where your desktops will be located.
Active Directory user accounts
We recommend that you also take this opportunity to create a number of user accounts that will be needed across your installation.
These accounts will include service accounts for your View Connection Server Services and Composer Services. You need an AD account to be used by View to log in and manage components within your vCenter, and a user for View...
