Setting up SEO
The dominance of Google in the modern digital space cannot be underestimated, and it’s non-negotiable that you need to set up your site to respond to the reality that people find information through search engines. Google isn’t the only search engine in town, but it is the primary standard by which the web is set as of the publication of this book. While you may have tracking code and configuration for search engines such as Bing or Yahoo, we’re going to focus on SEO techniques and implementation largely used for Google.
A word of caution
You need to ensure that your website is set up for Google to easily consume and then rank against other potential competitor websites. Note that you should only do this for public-facing Experience Cloud sites. There is no point in SEO optimizing an authenticated portal experience since that content is intentionally behind a login.
