Using imported materials in Lumion


Using materials is a key aspect to working in Lumion. If we don't have even the simplest material assigned to a surface, when the 3D model is imported in Lumion, we have no way to work with Lumion's materials. This means we have to apply materials to each surface; these materials can be simple colors or we can use a material with a diffuse texture.

What is a diffuse texture? In simple terms, a diffuse texture is the image file with color information that will transform a surface into a brick wall or metal floor. Some examples of diffuse textures are shown in the following screenshot:
