In previous chapters, we looked at Active Directory (AD) infrastructure components and learned how to design an identity infrastructure using them. We also learned about the new features and enhancements of Active Directory 2016. Now, it's time to look at installing Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), as well as its migrations. It would be perfect if we could design and implement an identity infrastructure from scratch, but the majority of organizations already have an Active Directory environment. Due to this, most of the time, they will be looking to migrate from one version of Active Directory to a newer one so that they can use that version's new features and enhancements.
