Designing a Simple Bottle Holder

We are now about to start the first main project of the book, which is the design and modeling of a water bottle holder for a bicycle. Over the next few chapters, we will teach you how to take and record measurements from an existing bicycle using calipers and come up with a unique design that fits an 8-oz water bottle. In this chapter, we will learn how to create bottle holder sketches and use calipers to take measurements of the bicycle.

The first part of the project is to come up with a simple design and plan out how to approach the project. We will then come up with a few other design ideas and then add more details to the part. We will use some cheap calipers to determine the correct size of the bike support pipes and create the measurements of the bicycle holder according to the existing bicycle measurements taken.
