VxRail software upgrade

In this section, we will discuss the VxRail software and understand what components comprise the VxRail software package. The VxRail software package includes four main components. The following table provides a summary of each component:

Let's review each component in the VxRail cluster. The following components will upgrade the software version during the software upgrade process:

VxRail Manager is a virtual appliance that performs all VxRail operation tasks with the VxRail Manager plugin for vCenter.
VMware ESXi Service Patch is the version upgrade patch for a vSphere host; for example, upgrading vSphere 6.7 to 7.0.
VMware vCenter Server Virtual Appliance is optimized Linux server, runs all vCenter services, and also provides a centralized dashboard.
VMware vSAN Service Patch is the version upgrade patch for a vSAN cluster; for example, upgrading vSAN 6.7 to 7.0.
