Chapter 4. Navigation
Navigating from page to page or from view to form and back again presents some challenges for Domino web developers. The browser menu and toolbars are of little use to an application, and almost everything required for a page to make decisions and to proceed to the next page must be contained on the page itself.
Navigation styles and strategies should be consistent within an application, and if at all possible, the same styles and strategies should be implemented across related applications. Consistency and familiarity facilitate user learning; experience with one application transfers directly to a similar application, shortening the learning curve, and improving user productivity. Development of new applications, of course, can be hastened if similar strategies are consistently employed within the organization.
