Technical requirements

We will be using the following tools to accomplish the tasks in this chapter:

• The Microsoft Cost Management + Billing tool is available at https://portal.azure.com/#view/Microsoft_Azure_CostManagement/Menu/~/overview. Alternatively, you can also find Cost Management + Billing by signing into the Azure Portal and, from the top center search bar, typing Cost Management + Billing.
• The Microsoft Power BI Cost Management connector is available at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connect-azure-cost-management.
• DAX Studio is available at https://daxstudio.org.
• The SQL Server database with read and write permissions.
• The Azure pricing calculator is available at https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/calculator.

When using these tools, sign in to the Azure Portal using your organization ID. Please refer to Chapter 1 for the minimum RBAC permissions required to use Azure Cost Management + Billing.
