Applying and using audio effects

To make audio sound clearer, make it more robotic, compress dynamic range, or distort it in all kinds of crazy ways, you need audio effects, and you’ll learn about many of them here. As you might expect, audio effects function much like video effects, and they are found at the bottom of the same Effects Browser interface pane. There’s a wild variety of included effects (including many from Apple’s Logic Pro) and third-party effects are also supported, so you’ll be able to cover most tasks.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Audio effects can be added to individual clips, components of clips, or many clips at once. While we’ll approach this simply at first, applying effects to entire clips, you’ll find out how to deal with more complex workflows in the following section, Using Roles with audio.
