The initial assembly
Initial assembly is the procedure in which you assemble the clips from the Favorites
selection into an order that represents the chronological sequence of the video’s original script. When the organization and grading have been done by an assistant editor, the initial assembly is possibly the first time that the executive editor is involved. For larger productions, the initial assembly gives the director the first chance to see the chronological sequence of the clips so they can ascertain whether the video is viable and whether more media needs to be shot.
If this is the first time the executive editor is involved, it’s important that they view all the footage in both the Favorites
and Suitable
categories in the browser before committing them to the initial assembly project.
To review the footage from the Keyword Collections, select any keyword and press Command + K. This will open the Keywords window, and you can then see what Keyword Collection...
