Human Problem
The human problem is that we cannot learn enough about dozens, or potentially hundreds, of secure communications products every two to six weeks to make effective decisions about what to upgrade, when to upgrade, the risk of upgrading, or the risk of not upgrading a particular product. Orchestration, automation, templating, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) built into operational support models can reduce the amount of human labor required to scale SASE. The progress that the technology market has made in reducing the labor required to deliver a secure communications solution at scale is extremely beneficial, and it is tangible. Unfortunately, it requires skills not effectively taught at this time to design, build, deploy, and operate. These skills must be human, and the first step taken must be human. The iteration of the solution must be human too. Technology can reduce the human requirement, but cannot eliminate all labor requirements, ethically or soon.
