Service design guidelines
As you roll out business processes to your organization, it will become increasingly important that a good set of service design guidelines are defined, communicated, and governed against. The definition of a service in your organization and the contract between the consumer and the provider will enable the separation of concerns between the two parties. It will allow the consumer, that is, the business process, to concentrate on delivering the outcomes they are responsible for without being concerned with the functions and activities over which they do not have control—which is now the responsibility of the service provider.
Note
A business service is a contract between the provider and multiple consumers. It provides a guaranteed and repeatable behavior that allows the consumer to concentrate on the usage of the service rather than the details within the service.
