Technical requirements
In this chapter, we will be using the Los Angeles Traffic Collision data from the hands-on exercise in Chapter 4, Loading and Transforming Data (https://data.lacity.org/Public-Safety/Traffic-Collision-Data-from-2010-to-Present/d5tf-ez2w) provided by the Los Angeles’ Open Data catalog (https://data.lacity.org/). For convenience, we also have it available as ch4/archive.zip
in this book’s GitHub repository: https://github.com/PacktPublishing/Data-Exploration-and-Preparation-with-BigQuery/tree/main/ch4. We will review how to analyze your BigQuery data in Looker Studio and Google Sheets in this chapter. It is really easy to integrate BigQuery with Looker Studio and Google Sheets. You will want to select the table you used to load the collision data into BigQuery. Click your table in the BigQuery Explorer pane and, in the table query pane, click the EXPORT button, then Explore with Looker Studio or Explore with Sheets. We will walk you through this later...
