Exploring Data with Notebooks
In previous chapters, we have discussed the BigQuery fundamentals – design, loading and preparing data, and querying it. We will now discuss and demonstrate the use of notebooks to explore your data in BigQuery.
Workbench instances are the managed data analysis and data science notebooks provided in Google Cloud Vertex AI. Also known as Vertex AI user-managed notebooks, or notebooks, Workbench instances are a powerful tool to explore and prepare data. Notebooks allow you to run queries, visualize data, perform transformations, and execute all of your data analysis tasks in a single application. They make it easy to iterate on your analysis and quickly see the results of your progress and changes. Think of a notebook as an interactive space to create and process the various steps of data analysis in a single page, capturing history and creating visualizations, with the ability to share and easily collaborate with others.
