The vision
When a leader formulates a business strategy, a clear set of statements form in their mind. They begin with “I see us…”, after which the elaboration of that vision flows out describing the end state. It is like an artist describing in words what they intend to create. There is emotion, feeling, thought, and a clarity of purpose that comes from reflection on what will be! It is that vision that the leader uses to get up each morning and become excited. Progress toward the vision will be made that day… or not… but the leader will not be swayed in achieving the goal.
