Exporting a still image


It's pretty common to have to export still images for use on the web, use in print materials, or to manipulate in another application (for example, Photoshop) and then to import the altered frame back into your project and edit it into your Sequence.

How to do it…

Here is how to export a still image:

  1. In either the Source Window or Record Window, pause on the frame you want to export.

  2. Enable the video track for the source clip or Sequence where the image resides (for example, V2).

  3. To begin the Export process, you can use any of the following methods:

    • Right-click on Source Monitor and select Export

    • Right-click on the Record Monitor and select Export

    • Go to File Menu | Export

  4. The Export As… dialog window will open. Enter a name for the file you will be exporting.

  5. From the pull-down menu, select where you'd like the file to be placed when it's created (for example, Desktop).

  6. Click on the Options button. The Export Settings dialog window will open.
