Clip Mode Level and Pan Adjustments

In the next several recipes, we'll be covering using Clip Mode with Dissolves to make Level and Pan adjustments, setting a common level to multiple segments simultaneously, and adjusting multiple segments simultaneously by a uniform amount. Once you understand these three things, then all the other available options from the Audio Mixer Fast Menu will make perfect sense.

First, let's open the Audio Mixer and get it set to Clip Mode:

How to do it...

  1. Open the Audio Mixer with any of these methods:

    • Tools Menu | Audio Mixer

    • Windows | Workspaces | Audio Editing

    • Consider mapping the Audio Mixer menu selection to a convenient location on your keyboard. For example, I've placed this on Shift + A. More information on mapping buttons and menu selections can be found in the Mapping buttons and menu selections recipe in Chapter 2, Customizing Your Work Environment.

  2. Click the Audio Mixer Mode button so that it displays the text Clip.

How it works...
