Generating reports and tables of Civil 3D object data
As I’m sure you’ve realized at this point, there are many benefits and applications when utilizing Project Explorer from a design and quick review standpoint. Reporting and creating tables from this data is a huge plus as well. Using Project Explorer, we can quickly export data associated with our modeled objects in various ways. However, it’s important to align the data that is reported so that it makes sense for the audience that will analyze and assess it.
If we think about the basics, we can simply report on various materials from the corridor and/or utility models, generating quantification reports of AutoCAD blocks used to depict the erosion control measures being applied, or even understanding how much dirt needs to be brought on-site or hauled off-site throughout construction. Once this data is exported, the sky’s the limit with what we can do with it, including developing simple cost estimation...
