Summarizing what we’ve learned
In the first chapter, we started the book with an introduction to the concept of big data in cybersecurity. We explained the four Vs of big data: volume, velocity, variety, and veracity. We also covered what this means for large-scale AI systems. Furthermore, we explained in detail what big data means for cybersecurity, how it enables organizations to be more secure, and which challenges can happen along the way. The AI methods that are currently used are highly data-driven, and we explained how organizations need to tackle big data to handle the four Vs successfully. We pointed out from the start that without proper data quality, as well as processes for data governance, data validation, and so on, there is no good AI system. Moreover, in the first chapter, we encouraged the use of big data by describing use cases from tech companies such as Microsoft or IBM.
