Other ways to file
We've seen now that Alfresco is extremely flexible and is able to "ingest" content from a variety of sources using standard protocols that are available out of the box. We have not discussed all the possibilities. Inbound e-mail processing, WebDAV, and third-party browser plugins, for example, are some of the other popular ways that are also useful for bringing content into the Alfresco repository.

Inbound e-mail processing is a particularly interesting technique that allows users to send e-mails directly to the repository to be automatically filed. Using this technique, for example, important e-mails can be automatically filed by cc-ing the e-mail to the repository.
