Chapter 8. Complete Active Directory Failure

Scenario

Throughout your Active Directory (AD) forest, all DCs fail, giving error messages regarding the AD database failure or the inability of the DCs to load the AD database. As every DC is non-functional, though bootable, you cannot recover a single DC or a single site. You will have to rebuild your complete forest, and without much time-delay. This scenario has a major impact on the user and all other applications that rely on AD for authentication or service. For example, this includes HR and payroll applications.
