Summary
In this chapter, we learned about IoT end devices used in IoT systems. We discussed their types and hardware architecture, as well as the importance of MCUs. We also explored the important parts and connections that allow these devices to interact with their surroundings. Additionally, we talked about sensors and actuators that gather data and enable actions in the real world.
As we move on to the next chapter, we will build on this knowledge by exploring how wireless data communication works in the air. Wireless connectivity is what connects individual devices into an IoT network that can transmit data and commands to fully utilize the potential of IoT. We will look at different wireless connectivity technologies in detail, including Wi-Fi, BLE, LTE-M, and NB-IOT in the domain of 4G/LTE and 5G.
