Chapter 9. Pick your Battles
You have learned in the previous chapters how you can start implementing an SOA in your organization. It is important that you keep your eye on the ball during the realization and use of this architecture. This chapter describes how to make sure you don't lose track of the goals you have set. An important part of creating a successful SOA is that you allow the organization and people to learn, without losing money or motivation: you have to pick your battles! In this chapter, you will learn this from four perspectives:
The architecture process
The development process
Operations
Change management
There is an official term for picking your battles: governance and SOA governance. Let's look at that first.
