Getting ready for the pilot

The previous sections discussed methodologies that deliver the S/4HANA transformation based on agile practices to provide a faster time-to-value and time-to-market. IT operations cannot rely on the waterfall approach when the business is agile to deliver the changes and the new improvements in increments to the production environments, especially when dealing with hybrid multi-cloud environments.

To cater to this agile way of pushing changes from dev to production, the IT DevOps teams need to have dynamic, automated CI/CD pipelines set up for their SAP and non-SAP content. We will be dealing with how CI/CD operations can be activated using the SAP BTP Transport Management Service (TMS) and the central Change Control Management and Transport Management components within SAP Solution Manager or CALM in the upcoming sections to orchestrate and manage your cloud and on-premises changes to be released in perfect harmony through a single control plane.
