Assessment and your learning objectives
As you select your assessments, make sure that you cover all your learning objectives. It is often very helpful to map your assessments to your learning objectives. The sequence is often very important as well. Start with the first learning objective that you have listed and then map it to an assessment. Move down the list through all your learning objectives and make sure that you have an assessment that corresponds to each one. As you are mapping the assessments, also be sure that the difficulty level is appropriate. For example, if you require students to identify key terms, a multiple choice quiz could be appropriate. If you are asking them to create a plan, an essay or a collaborative activity such as a group project done in Workshop could work.
