Summary
This chapter has reviewed many of the new core enhancements to the Veeam Backup and Replication v12 software. We looked at the new PostgreSQL server database implementation, which can replace Microsoft SQL Server or be a fresh installation. We covered what is new with per-VM backup chains and how Veeam has implemented files per server in the backup repository. We looked at the new option when adding a repository for the Linux hardened repository, by making a selection in the wizard. Finally, we looked at the Linux proxy and all its new enhancements, including using it for CDP as a proxy.
Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 covered Veeam Backup and Replication basics for installation, including best practices, optimization, and some new core enhancements to the product. The next chapter, Scale-Out Backup Repository – What’s New, looks at more advanced and further features of Veeam Backup and Replication v12.
