Summary
In this chapter, we looked at one of the most important concepts in Jira – projects – and how to create and manage them. Permissions were introduced, and we looked at three permissions that are related to creating, browsing, and administering projects. We also looked at the very useful project archiving feature introduced in Jira Data Center, and how you can use it to help improve Jira performance by archiving unused projects.
We were also introduced to the two interfaces Jira provides for project administrators and everyday users – the Project settings interface and the Project Browser interface, respectively. In the next chapter, we will learn how to create projects using the Software project type to enable Scrum and Kanban to run agile projects.
