Summary

In this chapter, we learned how to set up service connections or SC-CANs via cloud management and via Panorama. Service connections are used to connect your data center or cloud environment to the Prisma Access infrastructure so mobile users, remote networks, and even other data centers can access resources hosted in the data center.

Each service connection has 1 Gbps of bandwidth available, and multiple SC-CANs can be combined to increase the bandwidth for a given data center. SC-CAN does not have security enforcement, so the remote peer should ideally be an NGFW so security policies can be applied there.

In the next chapter, we will be learning about RN-SPN, which enables branch offices to be connected to the cloud and leverage the service connections to access private applications, and have secured, local, internet breakout.
