Summary

In this chapter, we discussed Importing 3D, 2D, and Image files, and Exporting 3D, 2D, Image, Section, and Animation files. We also looked at an overview of Send to LayOut and the LayOut interface, 3D Warehouse, and Extensions. Being able to work with other files quickly and effectively will allow your SketchUp models to go from simple to stunning!

I encourage you to use 3D Warehouse to find models that you can use in your own SketchUp projects, but also to share the models that you create! SketchUp models will always be created with varied levels of detail, materials, and special features. No matter the complexity of your model, if it was helpful to you, there is a good chance that it would be helpful to someone else using SketchUp! Extensions are not necessary for modeling in SketchUp, but they can make some workflows much easier, and can also take your SketchUp models to the next level!

Good luck getting started with SketchUp Pro. Have fun working in SketchUp, and...
