Kandance Ferguson is a software engineer at a very small start-up, on a team of two, including herself. This is her first software engineer role and she started a little over 6 months ago. Kandance is also a part-time programming instructor. She’s consistently crossed paths with programming in her 15-year professional career across various roles.
Although her father was an engineer and a math teacher, Kandance wanted to be a nurse. After facing extreme discrimination in her nursing degree program, she decided to try something different and change majors, “but never considered computer science.
