Where do we start?
According to a Chinese proverb, a journey starts with a single step. In our case, our journey starts with a single destination. That single destination is what the solution will provide. But we must be sure about what the solution will provide before we can get to that destination. We can’t fail; there is too much time and money riding on what we plan to produce. In the last chapter, we talked about how to come up with a solution once we understand a company’s business processes. Now, we need to take that understanding and produce a design that fulfills those requirements.
The best place to start with this understanding is by completing a playback of the business processes. Some organizations call it Simulation 0 or Sim 0. Basically, the point of this presentation is so the partner has a full understanding of what the client’s requirements are.
