In this chapter, we learned more about you as a reader and the amount of support that might be available to you from your colleagues as you work your way through this book.
We looked at the different business rules engines available and why we recommend Kogito/Drools to work through in this book and saw a glimpse of some other interesting projects from Red Hat. Since open source is a key part of this decision, we looked at the support available from the community and saw resources where we can learn a lot more about the technology.
As we will be investing significant time in the KIE project, we provided reassurance of the long-term benefits to you and your team in deploying it as part of a wider software solution. This included understanding how enterprise solutions are both more powerful and more complex than Excel, the team of people that work on them, and how KIE and Drools fit into this overall enterprise solution.
