Summary
The hybrid cloud model is going to be around for some time, and it helps with scaling on-premises architecture and enables the optimum use of public cloud offerings. Creating a hybrid cloud needs various tools, and you also need to account for existing processes and technologies that are in production.
In this chapter, we learned about hypervisors, VMs, containers, and CI/CD and how they play vital roles in cloud and hybrid cloud architectures. Making them all work together requires new processes and tooling, and using automated CI/CD that handles testing the code and deploying it to the right destination frees up your developers and infrastructure teams from time-consuming operational tasks.
In the next chapter, we will look at provisioning infrastructure with Infrastructure as code (IaC).
