Building a Basic Residential Model: Modeling Openings, Stairs, and Objects
This chapter continues from the previous one, where we will add a few new tools, including Doors, Windows, Stairs, and the Morph tool. We focus mostly on the building envelope and the main circulation throughout the building but will also touch upon the use of parametric library objects and the creation of arbitrary shapes.
The following are the key topics covered in this chapter:
- Modeling joinery (using Doors and Windows) on the outside and inside of the project
- Learning to use the Object Library
- Adding an interior Staircase
- Custom shapes with the Morph tool
By the end of this chapter, you will be able to model a complete basic residential project using various tools and techniques.
