Decorating the 3D environment
Our 3D FPS game is well on its way to becoming something of a real game, but it must graduate from its graybox environment first if we want it to be attractive to potential players. This section will explore Unity 2022 features for replacing the graybox kit module’s Prefabs with polished and textured 3D mesh Prefabs that properly represent our habitat’s interior environment.
We’ll not only replace the existing graybox Prefabs but also introduce new assets to decorate the environment to make it feel more complete and lived-in. This will be a combination of both 3D models and textures that we’ll apply in different ways, again, using Unity’s artist feature tooling (specific to Universal RP).
