Modeling the jar
The first part of this project involves modeling the jar which will need to be scaled so that items will fit inside of it. Before you begin your CAD design, you should identify what you plan to store in your jar and take some preliminary measurements as we did in the previous chapter. This project will be scalable, which means you can always choose to increase or decrease the size of your jar later.
Once you’ve identified how big you would like this project to be, we can move into modeling the first part through the following steps:
- After creating a new 3D design project in Tinkercad, choose a shape for your jar. It doesn’t need to be cylindrical; I have chosen to start with a Polygon shape, as shown in Figure 17.1:
