Introducing map engine platforms
To visualize our GPS data into concepts such as latitude and longitude, we can use a map. By putting latitude and longitude values on a map, we can see the exact location of the entity in question.
Basically, you can use your own map to visualize our GPS data. In this section, we will learn the common map engine platform, Google Maps API. This library provides many options for our programming model to visualize GPS data on a map. For further information about Google Maps API, you can visit the official website at https://developers.google.com/maps.
For our demo, we will use Google Maps API on our Python program. I use the Flask library as a web framework. Please find the Flask library at http://flask.pocoo.org.
To install the Flash library on your computer or Raspberry Pi, you can get it via pip
:
$ pip install Flask
You may need to be of administrator level in order to install it. If so, you can use sudo
on your command. For a Windows platform, you can call...
