We started the chapter by discussing the importance of why we should be concerned with performance in the first place. I hope that this will give you food for thought regarding why it’s a bad idea to start developing a solution in Salesforce without properly thinking through design and architectural considerations. The Salesforce Platform is powerful and allows customers to build applications that shorten the software development life cycle time, but that strength turns into a weakness when solutions are haphazardly put together.
