Summary

In this chapter, we covered the EBS architecture and saw how it can achieve maximum availability. We looked at why Oracle RAC is suitable for addressing the needs of EBS for a scalable and resilient database solution in near-zero downtime environments. We also looked at the steps and utilities to enable Oracle 11g RAC with EBS environments. First we explained how to use the Oracle R12 EBS utility AutoConfig to update the configuration for EBS and then we discussed the Oracle R12 EBS installation process. Lastly we discussed how to use the Rapid Clone utility provided with Oracle R12 EBS to configure EBS for RAC.
